The new smaller companion to Massenza's existing MM4 drill rig, the MM3 rig is built to order and can be built to suit customers' specific requirements. It can be supplied with either a 73.4hp (54kW), Hatz brand, Stage V diesel engine or an electric motor with 75hp (55kW) output and a separate generator.

Measuring less than 1m wide and 2.2m high, making it small enough to pass through doorways, the electric version of the MM3 is suitable for use inside buildings where not only is space limited but emissions are strictly controlled.

Thanks to the special mast support, the rig has great freedom of movement, while maintaining maximum stability, thanks to a well-balanced structure and to two front adjustable stabilisers on arms. These stabilisers have been designed so as not to counter the rig's compact nature.

Similarly, to allow for greater stability while remaining compact the rig's track can be extended from 900mm to 1,400mm.

The MM3 has a mast that can provide up to 4,000kg of pull up capacity and drill with rods up to 3m in length.

As well as being fully radio remote-controlled, the MM3 can be specified with a hydraulic double clamp with free passage diameter up to 205mm (8in). Different models of rotary heads are available as options too, from high-torque (up to 7,000Nm), to high-speed (up to 714rpm), to multipurpose rotary heads. Additional options available to buyers of the MM3 include a 1,000kg direct pull winch, the choice of a screw, centrifugal or triplex pump, a water/foam pump and an air lubricator.
