The EK160USM, mounted on a CAT base, keeping the operation and maintenance extremely friendly and efficient, has been designed for high performance and for fast and easy set-up for operation and transport mode.

CZM says that the EK160USM is the only machine of its class in the market that allows contractors to drill under 20ft overhead obstructions, up to a depth of 55ft and a diameter of 10ft, making it the ideal machine for drilling under transmission lines.

The EK160USM is mounted on a Caterpillar 330F L Tier IV Final, with extendable crawlers for 360-degree stability. With a torque of 167,350ftlb, it can drill through very hard soil layers and rock.

With an operating weight of 103,500lbs and a transport weight of 83,000lbs, it is a very transport friendly piece of equipment.

The machine is equipped with a self-erecting counterweight for easy setup and break down. In this system, by means of hydraulic cylinders installed in the back, the operator can pick up the counterweight from ground level and install it in place eliminating the need for a crane or forklift to set up the machine at the job site. This also reduces the operation cost and boosts contractors return on the investment.
