Boart Longyear's heavy-duty bits, casings, and complete drill strings are used in a variety of overburden and construction drilling applications including anchoring, micro-piling, ground freezing, and jet grouting.
The company's percussive tooling line includes rods, bits and shanks that offer high-quality products for blast hole and roof bolt drilling applications. In addition, Boart Longyear's line of drill rig equipment includes deep-reaching surface and underground drills, truly hands-free rod handling solutions, and sonic drilling equipment that minimizes friction for more efficient penetration while reducing environmental impact.
"Boart Longyear has products and services we believe will interest people who have construction or blasting applications, as well as those who use or specify drills for environmental, production or exploration projects," said Pat Nill, the Boart Longyear vice president of Global Products. "This year we are featuring one of our sonic rigs—the LS 600. We're confident this rig will be interesting to those who may already be doing sonic drilling, and engineering firms who are wanting a waterless, lower disturbance, lower dust way to drill for samples on construction or environmental jobs. We love sharing our greatest innovations with customers and industry professionals and discussing how we can help on all sorts of projects."
During CONEXPO, Boart Longyear experts will be available to talk about some of the company's innovative products and services, like the LS 600 Sonic Rig and SV 600 Support Vehicle—both on display in Booth #BL218. This advanced sonic rig drills deeper, produces more accurate samples, and serves more markets than any other sonic drilling rig. Boart Longyear also offers sonic tooling to complement its line of sonic rigs. Made of high-quality precision steels plus special heat treatment processes this sonic tooling provides unsurpassed stability, straightness, and durability of the sonic drill string assembly.
For use in production drilling, Boart Longyear offers the StopeMate pneumatic drill which is extremely compact—small enough to be loaded into a lift cage. This drill is capable of drilling 51mm to 76mm holes, accommodates drilling depths of 12 to 25m, and can be quickly disassembled and reassembled to gain access to captive areas.
For top hammer tooling applications such as tunnelling, bolting, and drifting, the DriftMaster series of rods and bits are designed with a unique thread profile for added endurance and strength. Boart Longyear also has high-quality overburden tooling, used in applications for anchoring, micro-piling, and jet grouting.
Brendan Ryan, chief business development officer of Boart Longyear, said: "We are excited to be a part of CONEXPO-CON/AGG. This is a great opportunity to show others what Boart Longyear is all about, and to gain lasting connections with people who may not be in the mining industry, but who can benefit from the products and services we offer."
