Marini Quarries Group is a world leader in the production of machines and equipment for special foundation works (large and small diameter) and marble/granite quarries.

The know-how acquired in 50 years of professional growth, and the extensive assistance network created make Marini Quarries Group the ideal partner to supply a single machine or an entire plant anywhere in the world.

With over 40 different models of machines in the foundation sector, divided into five production lines, Marini Quarries can offer its customers effective solutions for large diameter piles, micro-piles, ground consolidations, anchors and installation of rockfall and avalanche barriers.

The company's commitment starts with the choice of raw materials. It continues throughout the product design and manufacturing phase, supported by cutting-edge technology, which allows it to carry out excellent quality work and maintain the products' high-quality standards.

The ability to make the customers' needs their own is a fundamental detail for the construction of each machine. Based on this aspect, in 2006, the "Long-reach" line of Marini Quarries rigs was born. In the MR-C Line, Marini offers three solutions with increased working areas:

·       MR-C 80: Long-reach drilling rig with an operating weight of 9t

·       MR-C 85: Long-reach drilling rig with an operating weight of 10t

·       MR-C 90: Long-reach drilling rig with an operating weight of 14.5t

Each machine is available in various configurations to meet the needs of any type of construction site.

Bern SBB Main Station

The best way to understand the quality of Marini Quarries MR-C Line of rigs is to review an example of one at work.

In Bern, Switzerland, the main contractor, ARGE APBB Los 3, is responsible for the construction of the new RBS rail station 17m below the existing SBB station. The project involves the construction of a new basement plan while keeping the upper floors in operation during excavation.

To enable this, micropiles of the type ROR 1239.7 x 10.5mm need to be made. Each micropile has a diameter of 219mm and a length of 13m for a total length for the whole project of approximately 10.000m.

MR-C 85 rig

The choice to utilise a Marini Quarries MR-C 85 rig, rented by Steintech, is explained by the special project manager of the company Walo Bertschinger, Andrea Lusi, who has the responsibility of parking the crawler unit on the platform and thanks to its boom and the kinematic of the whole unit reach any required drilling point on the rails level where for safety reason it was forbidden to position any crawler rig.

The MR-C 85 is a fully radio-controlled hydraulic drilling rig with a double-joint arm system. The MR-C 85 is mainly used on heavy construction sites where ground consolidation and small and medium-diameter anchors are required.

The 2024 version features notable upgrades in terms of power:

·       Variable track: 2200 – 2700 mm / 7.22 - 8.86ft

·       Power pack: 115hp / 85Kw Stage V

·       Modular mast stroke: 2500 – 3500mm / 8.2 – 11.5ft

·       Extraction force: 3.500daN / 7720lbft

·       Rotation torque: 1000daNm / 7376 ft*lb

·       Clamp passage: 230mm / 13in

·       Operating weight: 11.000kg / 24.250lbs
