The new rigs are going to JB Site Investigation as the company updates its existing fleet of Massenza rigs. The MI3s, with their small footprint, will allow JB to get onto tighter sites and will also reduce their mobilization costs allowing the business to meet the demand for shallower SI boreholes.
The MI3 rigs are powered by 74.8hp Hatz diesel engines that run a four-speed head with a maximum torque of 4,400Nm and a maximum speed 400rpm. The stroke of the mast is 1.9m and there is a 1,000kg service winch and radio remote drilling and tracking controls.
