Beretta's Bauma innovations

Beretta took the opportunity of showcasing its innovations during the Bauma event in Germany

Beretta has patented the carousel charger for its T209 and T155/S drill rigs

During the 2019 Bauma event in Munich, Germany, the greatest interest at the Beretta stand was around the Italian manufacturer's carousel charger for its T209 and T155/S, alongside the newly launched new T43/2 small rig with separated power-pack and the GT15 for the soil investigation work.

The patented Beretta charger system, which is available as an option on the T209 and T155/S rigs, utilises a rotating carousel that can be customised for the number of rods and casing according to their diameter. The charger features a simplified rod-casing loading and unloading system and innovative kinematics that also allows the filling of the carousel during the drilling phase. This later function helps to reduce downtime, thus increasing productivity.

The rotating carousel also has a high degree of customisation. It is available in different modes: for rods only or for multiple combinations of rods and casing.

The kinematics of the system consists of hydraulic cylinders that help the centring of the rod and casing and the positioning of the magazine and a 360° hydraulic bearing, allowing for any possible inclination, making charging of the rods and casing extremely easy.

That ease of use in combination with the unit's compact design, low weight, easy maintenance and reduced transport dimensions make for an extremely innovative package giving operators the opportunity to have total control over drilling activities.

During Bauma the drill rig drawing the most attention on the Beretta stand was the company's T43/2, which is an evolution of the existing T43.

The compact T43/2, which is an evolution of the existing T43, has been designed for drilling in confined spaces

Described by Beretta as ideally suited to drilling in restricted spaces, such as basements with limited headroom, the rig with its track-mounted power-pack (55KW/75hp), features new kinematics in a very compact design yet is still able to operate in front the wall drilling applications.

The adjustable frame allows the rig to reach a wide range of drilling positions and it can be equipped with Beretta's two or four-speed rotary heads (max torque 400-830daNm / max rpm 200-900).

The T43/2 can be ordered as a fully remote radio-controlled unit or with Beretta's new smart-ergonomic panel.

The final innovation brought to Bauma by Beretta was the GT15, one of a range of 10 new models designed for soil investigation, water well drilling and geothermal drilling.

The lightweight and easily transportable GT15 is just 2.4t in standard trim and 2.8t for the SPT system version. Both options have a 36KW/48hp stage V, diesel engine. The rig offers the high performances of rotary head type 23-4V (speeds), max torque of 200-480 daNm and max rpm of 160-600, and it is also available with Beretta's top hammer 70H.
