The works for the foundation of the high-rise commenced one year ago and the last pile was completed in September by Per Aarsleff using Bauer machinery.
With the help of a Bauer BG 55 as well as an MC 86 and an MC 96 duty-cycle crane with casing oscillator, 58 foundation piles with a diameter of 2,000mm were successfully drilled to a depth of 75m. The fact that the foundation piles had to be fully cased and in places had to be inserted into almost vertically sloping rock horizons with a shear strength of up to 200MPa posed a particular challenge.
The BG 55 used the newly developed Kelly drilling assistant and in particular the rock drilling assistant. These assistance systems and the drilling tools were specifically adapted to site conditions. The MC 86 and MC 96 duty-cycle cranes with the newly developed automatic chisel system played an important role in the construction of the foundations, too.
