Located in Binley, Coventry, Socotec Central is a major strategic facility which incorporates a number of Socotec's business units and will serve as a base for up to 100 staff, including the group's commercial team, Contaminated Land & Waste Consultancy staff, the Geotechnical Operations team and the materials testing staff and resource from the company's former Daventry site.

The development comprises a number of offices and meeting rooms, state-of-the-art aggregates and concrete testing laboratories, and will act as the new home of the Geotechnical Plant department. It also sets a new standard for Socotec Group facilities in terms of the style, fit-out, finishing and range of amenities for staff.

"The new Coventry site is a fantastic facility, the likes of which has never before been seen in the history of this market," said Philip Ball, technical group director, Socotec UK. "It sets the standard for facilities that we can be very proud of, and in consolidating the Southam and Daventry sites, we will provide a better customer experience and improved integrated solutions.

"The new space has been designed with efficient workflows and environmental considerations at its core - for example, excess heat from some areas will be reused in other areas for space heating.

"We look forward to this new chapter in the history of Socotec UK and the wealth of opportunities that it will bring to the business."
