Due to the unique attributes of the National Pile Croppers' (NPC) range, the in-house developed and manufactured range of hydraulic pile croppers is now being extensively used throughout the UK, Australia and increasingly, Europe. The latest development to the range is an upgrade to its Heavy Duty CFA Links to cope with even the most demanding of projects.

Produce the equipment we know our customers require

As customer requirements and project requirements change, so does the NPC product portfolio. "We continually keep in close contact with our customers and use the feedback from our croppers being used in the field to produce the equipment we know our customers require to be more efficient, productive and safe." NPC director, Lee Aston said. "Our latest development is the direct result of working with our customers – including some of the largest civil engineering companies in Europe - on some very large projects that required a heavy-duty solution."

Effective cropping power

For dealing with augured (round) piles, NPC developed the CFA and HD range, which cuts circular augured concrete piles ranging from 300mm to 2000mm in diameter. Specifically in response to meet customer demands, the latest version of the NPC Heavy Duty CFA Links have a new and improved design to help achieve minimal downtime for working to demanding timescales, in demanding conditions. Since their introduction, they have become the go-to option for the reduction of larger diameter piles, being able to crop piles up to and above 2m in diameter.

"NPC Heavy Duty CFA Links are proportionally larger than other croppers available. They provide more of the desired cropping power customers increasingly require. This means that they are able to reduce piles of 2m in diameter, such as those found on HS2 and other large highways projects ongoing across the UK," Aston explained.

Inbuild flexibility

"NPC also offers segmental adjustment links to help provide a closer proximity to the pile. This, in turn, enables the shape-tuned chisels to penetrate and provide the market-leading break. Flexibility is inbuilt into the design which means that they are modular, being easily adjusted to suit required pile sizes with adjustments of 100mm at a time without any hydraulic interference. Furthermore, by using the provided lifting frame, restrictions are minimised."

The NPC Heavy Duty CFA Links are just the latest development from the pile cropping company that has fast become the UK's, and increasingly Europe, North America and Australia's leading supplier of pile cropping solutions. It is intended to update the entire product range over the next 18 months in order to meet ever-developing customer requirements.
