The self-propelled unit is now a part of the Skelair's rental portfolio in order to satisfy industry need for a dynamic and versatile solution for all civil engineering, core drilling, micro piles, anchors and consolidation requirements.
The Marini MR-C 50 is the first rig of its kind in the UK, which will be suitable for work in narrow and difficult to access spaces due to its size and manoeuvrability. The small mobile drilling unit is equipped with a tracked undercarriage with variable widths of 1,300 - 1,800mm.
The MR-C 50 is radio remote-controlled with 30 auto-programmable channels and proportional controls on drilling and positioning functions.
With an extraction force of 5,000kg suitable for 3m drilling rods, the drilling unit has a rotary stroke of 3,500mm. The hydraulic rotary head reaches a maximum torque of 1,000daNm and a maximum speed of 90rpm. The self-moving unit is optimised for all civil engineering works with a maximum sloping gradient of 80 per cent.
"We are incredibly pleased to introduce the Marini MR-C 50 to our rental fleet," said Steph Keane, sales director at Skelair International. "The new Marini MR-C 50 will be available with a manual opening safety cage, hydraulic winch and hydraulic side shifting head. In addition, its size allows it to be used in difficult areas and it is equipped with a powerful Deutz engine which provides 85kW.
"Its ability to operate many hydraulic rock-drills or down-the-hole hammers makes it an incredibly desirable rig to be used on a variety drilling jobs. Skelair is incredibly excited to introduce the first MR-C 50 to the UK."
Mario Bozzola, Marini's sales area manager, added: "The Marini MR-C 50 has been specifically designed to satisfy industry need for a rig that can work in narrow and difficult spaces, without compromising on power. The model that Skelair will be introducing to the UK market will have a two speed ID 800 hydraulic rotary head. We have worked with Skelair for many years to bring the Marini product range to the UK and we're incredibly pleased to introduce the first MR-C 50 to the UK market."
