The new products are designed to enable faster, more reliable monitoring of heavy mining and construction equipment in remote locations, allow monitoring of mixed fleets on a single data platform and provide advanced analytics and diagnostics to support predictive maintenance, utilisation and operational efficiencies.
The first of the new options is the GT 1020, a compact all-in-one telematics device designed for use in multiple asset tracking applications in mining, construction and other demanding environments.
Equipped with 4G LTE (with 3G/2G fallback), GPS, and integrated antennas, the GT 1020 will withstand extreme weather and environmental conditions such as dust, water, shock and vibration for uninterrupted connections and constant operation.
The GT 1020 is quick and easy to install and can be discreetly deployed on vehicles and equipment to provide full asset tracking, management, and control in addition to preventing theft and tampering. It supports an optional CAN Bus interface, enabling advanced vehicle reporting, analytics, and diagnostics.
An integrated rechargeable battery allows reporting for up to nine months without an external power supply, depending on the reporting frequency. The device is available as part of Orbcomm's FleetEdge application, with APIs and tools also available to facilitate integration with proprietary and third-party systems.
PT 7000 is Orbcomm's rugged monitoring and control device for heavy equipment and is used extensively in the construction, mining, rail and utility industries.
It now supports 4G LTE. The dual-mode cellular and satellite device already supports operations in the most remote of locations and the addition of 4G LTE communication capabilities makes real-time tracking and control faster, more convenient and more comprehensive than ever before allowing customers to manage their operations more effectively by having faster access to real-time data.
