Germany geothermal project gains traction

The Future Agency Rheinisches Revier has awarded Fraunhofer IEG the third star for its project application Reallabor Tiefgeothermie Rheinland, which aims to create a research infrastructure in Eschweiler and the surrounding area that supports the structural change towards climate-friendly industrial and municipal heat supply with innovations and technology transfer. This award clears the way for approval by the responsible project sponsors.
