GDC receives ISO 9001:2015 certification

Geothermal Development Company (GDC) has received official ISO 9001:2015 certification from the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) in a ceremony held at GDC’s Kawi offices in Nairobi, Kenya.

The certification marks the culmination of a corporate journey, which included a rigorous audit of internal processes carried out by KEBS, in order to certify that the GDCmet the threshold for quality standards.

While receiving the certification on behalf of the company, MD and CEO Jared O. Othieno lauded the commitment and contribution of every staff member in ensuring that our services and processes met the high bar set out by the KEBS representatives. "This is a major transition from ISO 9001:2008. It's a time for celebration at GDC. I want to thank the Board of Directors for their leadership and unwavering support towards this process.

"The standards spelled in this certification fit well into GDC's core values of professionalism," he added.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by KEBS chief manager, Standards Development and Trade, Zacharia Lukorito, KEBS MD Lt. Col. (Rtd) Bernard N. Njiraini commended GDC for the great effort displayed in ensuring that the company attained the certification despite the numerous challenges presented by COVID-19 pandemic.

"I wish to congratulate GDC for showing great leadership and excellence in its processes. You showed great resilience and innovation to adapt and fit into the new standards," he said.
