Designed to be small and light enough to tow behind a 4x4 vehicle, the MI2 is a powerful rotary rig. When fitted with a hydraulic SPT hammer, hydraulic sample hammer, coring pump and casing extractor it will only weigh 2,600kgs, making the rig a class leader.
The MM8 drilling rig has a highly articulated mast allowing it to be used for micropiling, anchoring and jet grouting. The rig can also be used for geotechnical drilling, coring and water well drilling. It can also be supplied with a wide range of options, including single and double rotary heads, wireline winches, mast extension and a range of flush pumps.
Both machines have radio remote drilling and tracking controls as standard.
Not satisfied with the success of the MI3, Massenza decided to create the MI2 as a drill rig specifically designed for the geotechnical sector. The result is a rig configuration that allows customers to respond to market demands with a single rig and save on transport costs.
The MI2, which features a four-speed rotary head and 2,650kg of pull-up capacity, is suited to jobs where access is difficult and its low weight means it can be easily transported on a trailer with a total towing mass of 3,500kg. Despite this low weight it remains powerful thanks to the 56hp Tier 4 Final Hatz diesel engine it is equipped with as standard.
It offers dynamic sampling using the FX25 hydraulic hammer at maximum energy per shot 160J and 1,150rpm and is ready for Geobor S with 1.9m stroke.
Given the success of the MM4 Massenza multi-purpose drilling rig for micropiles, the Massenza has now decided to invest in this sector and this has resulted in the launch of the MM8.
The new MM8 can be used to drill micropiles and anchors, but can also be used for water wells, geotechnical investigations, geothermal wells and angle coring.
Equipped with a 156hp Tier 4 Final (Tier 5 ready) Deutz diesel engine, a mast with a pull-up capacity of up to 10,000kg, a rotary head with a maximum torque of 19,000Nm and a maximum speed of 140rpm (1,000 rpm with the head for core drilling), the MM8 is designed for total flexibility of movements to allow it to drill in all positions with incredible stability.
